HOME BASED AGENT PROGRAM
|
In 2001 Avanti established an educational program specifically for people who wished to become part of the travel industry as a travel consultant on either a full time or part time basis. Avanti has 53 Home Based Agents.
|
In August of each year Avanti holds class on two consecutive Saturdays from 9am until 4pm.
The curriculum provides instruction on how to sell and market to the leisure traveler. You are trained to determine your clients needs and match them with the leisure travel product that will best meet their requirements and dreams.
Emphasis is placed on cruise lines, tour companies, honeymoons, groups, incentive travel, adventure travel, and specialty travel.
You are taught to research destinations, book cruises and tours, as well as, an overview of world geography. You will also learn to develop and use your own database. Until you gain experience and confidence, an Avanti in-house full time agent is assigned to provide you any needed back-up.
There are regular meetings, the 2nd Tuesday of each month, vendor seminars and presentations throughout the year, and daily e-mails from vendors with updated information on their product and special savings being offered.
